Teacher: Music, Comedy
I am a musician and educator and have worked at KidsArts since 2015. I grew up in Sudbury singing in musicals and playing in rock bands. I attended Wheaton College and received a BA in Music. I find music and art making to one of the most exciting, rewarding and calming things in my life. I believe that if everyone got to make art or be creative on a regular basis the world would be a happier, healthier and safer place.
Since the fall of 2013 I have been honored to be part of the KidsArts family. I have seen the way KidsArts truly empowers kids to find their artistic voice and encourages them to use it. I love the way I get to be in our student’s lives in a consistent basis and joining them in their creative endeavors as they play, create, make jokes, write songs, tell stories and share struggles and friendship. I am studying Expressive Arts Therapy at Lesley University.
I have been the Director of KidsArts since 2014. As an artist and administrator I enjoy watching the creative processes that flourish within our walls! I hold a B.A. in Anthropology and Photography from Bennington College and a M.A. in International Relations and African Studies from Boston University where I studied Transitional Justice for former child soldiers . Recently I have been teaching claymation and learning Italian and the Ukelele. I have a 3 year old daughter.
As the Operations Manager I take care of enrollment, registrar inquiries and bookkeeping. In 2012 I joined KidsArts as a teacher. I have a lot of experience and skill in a variety of visual media and taught photography classes. I have a BA in Art and Women’s Studies from Northeastern University. Prior to KidsArts I worked at the Holland Elementary School in Dorchester as a City Years corps member. My hobbies include gardening, reading, and exploring the Arboretum.

I am a musician and audio engineer living in JP. I have three years experience teaching afterschool music classes in Lawrence, MA, and previously served as coordinator of the BoSTEM Initiative, a role in which I oversaw the evaluation of a cohort of science, technology, engineering, and math afterschool programs and organized a professional learning community among program staff members. I hold a BM from the New England Conservatory.
Teacher: Visual Art, TA
I was born in China and educated in both China and the US. I decided to be a visual artist when I was six years old. I received my BFA from China Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and my MFA from the School of Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. When I was little it was my art teachers who made me feel more and more interested in making art, now I want to pass this feeling along and show how cool art-making can be to the kids!
Teacher: Visual Art
I am passionate about fostering a space for children to discover their own artistic expression and the joy of creative collaboration. I graduated from Barnard College in 2012 with a B.A. in English and Art History and I worked in Berlin as a teaching assistant and tutor. In 2014 I completed a MPhil at Trinity College Dublin in Children’s Literature. The focus of my studies was on the interplay between text and images, an interest that inspires my classes at KidsArts.
Bus Coordinator & Teachers Assistant
Ashlee Here! I started at KidsArts in the summer of 2016 as an Intern. I’ve officially been part of the staff since the fall. Prior to working at KidsArts I worked at Here We Grow Daycare/Prechool as a TA in the preschool classroom. I believe that art is everything around you, its just how you perceive it. Some of my favorite types of art are watercolor and graffiti and anything that is requires hands on work.
I graduated from the Stella Adler acting studio in NYC in the Summer of 2015 and I hold a BFA in Musical Theatre from Florida Southern College. I teach children as young as 6 months old at Urbanity Dance Studio to KidsArts ages! I love creating a safe and colorful class environment through dance and movement.

Currently finishing up a Comm. degree at UMass Boston, I'm also a creative that molds young minds through art education and draws fun characters through my own view of the world. When I'm not pursuing these ventures I'm contemplating ways to take over the world thru comics. My current series, COMIXSCAPE, can be read on www.comixscape.net
