Motivated by a unique respect for young people, this not-for-profit independent program boasts a staff of experienced artists who focus on each child and bring their vibrant talents to spark each child’s journey to self-discovery.
A parent-run non-profit organization founded by artists and activists, KidsArts! adheres to the principle that healthy families may come in all forms; we celebrate the diversity of our community. KidsArts! has been based in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston for the past 18 years, and enjoys strong partnerships with local organizations.
KidsArts! not only offers exceptional and creative programming, but is also a true community effort, representing the best of JP’s artists and activists and attracting children from across and beyond the West Zone, enlarging their circle of friends and multicultural experiences.
Established by local artists and unaffiliated with any larger institution, KidsArts! is the only after school and vacation program of its kind in this area. Since its founding in 1994, hundreds of children have made monster masks and origami, danced Capoiera and played human chess, created music videos and tilled our community garden, crafted shadow puppets and written stories, discussed social justice and cooked empanadas, while developing strong, critical thinking skills and self-esteem.
Hablamos Español. Vouchers accepted. Scholarships available.
Whether you are a parent or guardian wanting to register for either an after school, vacation, or summer program for your kids; an organization or educator looking to forge a partnership; or a community supporter interested in making a tax-deductible contribution or donating art equipment or supplies, we look forward to hearing from you!
