Noelle Sands

Noelle is a recent graduate of Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a BFA in painting. Although they have a foundation in painting, their practice is not confined to any medium. In their personal practice, they are interested in using art as a means to find connections between seemingly unrelated ideas. Much of their focus is on understanding themselves in relation to the communities they choose to be a part of. They enjoy working at Kids Arts because they value the brave and honest community that the Kids Arts team thrives for. As an artist as teacher, Noelle mirrors their personal practice by empowering their students to question themselves and the world around them through experimentation. Rather than telling students what to create, Noelle shares techniques and offers loose constraints for the students to work within. In their classroom, students do not need to worry about failure, rather Noelle encourages their students to see how far they can push constraints.
