Our Programs
Where artists play…
We are committed to offering unique and quality out-of-school care for children ages 5-12. Each of our programs provide a balance of structured and playful activities composed of the following five KidsArts components:
Workshops
We offer our students 60-minutes workshops taught by our artists-as-teachers. Each artist-as-teacher creates their own classes based on their interests and expertise.
During the vacation program students receive four hours of creative instruction a day.
Snack Time
We do not believe in the idea of starving artists and so snack time is an essential part of every KidsArts day. We serve one healthy snack a day consisting of popcorn, a fruit or vegetable, and another carbohydrate. Also: lots and lots of water.
Free Time/Homework
This is the time to hang with friends and unwind after a long day of school or between vacation workshops. Freetime is inside or outside depending on the weather. We have toys, games, balls and coloring materials for kids to choose from.
Homework is open during the school year. We have a teacher supervise homework to help with any tricky math or grammar questions.
Circle Time
This is facilitated by the Site Manager, Program Manager and the staff. During this time students work on projects, read stories, play games and share their thoughts in a structured way.
The afterschool program has an “older kids” circle for grades 3-5 and a “younger kids” circle.
Showcase and Gallery
This is our students time to SHINE! We invite parents and families to come and celebrate everyone’s hard work and creativity.
Each summer/vacation week ends in a showcase with performances and a visual art gallery.
During the school year we have a showcase and gallery at the end of each session.
